LakArcade officials visited the Hambantota AGA’s Division on 6th May 2024 to inspect handicraft products created by local craft entrepreneurs as part of the initial phase of LakArcade’s Craft Development Programme covering the Hambantota District.

This important visit aimed to evaluate the quality, creativity, and potential of locally produced handicrafts while engaging directly with artisans and understanding their skills, challenges, and opportunities. The program reflects LakArcade’s commitment to empowering craft entrepreneurs by providing guidance, market access, and sustainable growth opportunities.

Representing LakArcade during the visit were Mr. Ashan Mark Fernando and Mr. Harishchandra Jayakody, who interacted with artisans and reviewed a wide range of traditional handcrafted products showcasing the rich cultural heritage of the region.

Through initiatives like the Craft Development Programme, LakArcade continues to play a vital role in supporting local artisan communities, preserving traditional craftsmanship, and promoting Sri Lankan artistry on both national and international platforms.
