This prestigious membership elevation follows a rigorous review conducted by the WCC AISBL Membership Sub-Committee and formal endorsement by the WCC AISBL Board, recognizing LAKARCADE’s significant contribution to preserving and promoting Sri Lanka’s rich craft heritage.
The appointment marks a major milestone in LAKARCADE’s ongoing mission of “Preserving Heritage” by empowering artisan communities and showcasing Sri Lankan craftsmanship on the global stage. As a National Entity Member, LAKARCADE joins an esteemed international network of craft practitioners, designers, cultural institutions, and advocates dedicated to advancing traditional and contemporary crafts worldwide.
Commenting on the achievement, Anil Koswatte, CEO and Managing Director of LAKARCADE, stated:

The membership was formally welcomed by Girija Sudhakaran, Deputy Secretary General and Treasurer of the WCC AISBL Secretariat, who noted that the application was approved following a comprehensive evaluation process.
